Dentist Dovilė van der Sterren
Dovilė van der Sterren is a dentist and the founder of Dovident. She combines extensive clinical experience with a strong focus on aesthetics, precision and personalised care. At Dovident she is responsible for day-to-day practice management and the clinical quality of treatments.
Education and professional background
Dovilė van der Sterren graduated cum laude as a dentist from Kaunas Medical University in Lithuania in 1999. After graduating she ran her own practice in Vilnius for three years. She then worked in a larger group practice, where she further specialised, among other areas, in endodontics.
Since 2008 she has practised as a dentist in the Netherlands, continuously in The Hague. She began her Dutch career at a group practice on the Laan van Meerdervoort. In 2013 she became clinical director at Dental Clinics The Hague, where for eight years she was responsible for patient care and for managing two locations.
Clinical expertise and specialisms
Within general dentistry Dovilė has broad experience in restorative treatments, including fillings, root canal treatments and crowns and bridges. In recent years she has also developed advanced skills in aesthetic dentistry. Her work includes aesthetic composite restorations, veneers and restoring the dentition as naturally as possible.
An important focus is orthodontics with aligners. Dovilė has extensive experience with Invisalign treatments, including both Invisalign Go and Go Plus. She has supervised hundreds of treatment courses, including more complex cases.
Approach, training and communication
Dovilė undertakes regular continuing education and stays up to date with new techniques and materials. She holds additional certifications, including Radiation Protection Supervisory Staff for CBCT, and is trained in workplace emergency response (BHV) and first aid (EHBO).
She works according to current guidelines and protocols and places great value on clear explanations and careful treatment planning. Dovilė speaks fluent Dutch, English, Lithuanian and Russian, making her accessible to international patients and expats. Her calm manner and clear communication help ensure a comfortable treatment experience, including for patients who feel anxious about dental visits.
Founding of Dovident
By founding Dovident Dental Practice, Dovilė has put her vision of dental care into practice. The practice is set up as a small-scale dental practice where quality, aesthetics and personal attention are central. At Dovident she is the main point of contact for patients and is responsible for the ongoing clinical development of the practice.
